Functions of Anti Ragging Committee
  1. Prevention and Awareness :
    • Educating students :

      The committee plays a vital role in informing students about the definition of ragging, its negative impact on individuals and the academic environment, and the legal consequences of participating in ragging.

    • Organizing awareness programs :

      This involves conducting workshops, talks, and other activities to sensitize students about the issue and promote a culture of respect and inclusivity.

    • Displaying notices and posters :

      Providing visual reminders about the anti-ragging policy and the committee's contact information.

  2. Investigation and Action :
    • Receiving complaints :

      Establishing a clear process for students to report ragging incidents and ensuring confidential and timely investigation.

    • Conducting inquiries :

      The committee investigates reported incidents, collecting evidence, and interviewing witnesses to determine the facts.

    • Taking action against offenders :

      Imposing disciplinary measures as outlined in the institution's anti-ragging policy, which may range from warnings to expulsion.

    • Reporting to authorities :

      In cases involving serious offenses, the committee may notify the police and other relevant authorities.

  3. Monitoring and Supervision :
    • Maintaining vigil :

      The committee, often with the assistance of an Anti-Ragging Squad, keeps a watchful eye on campus and other vulnerable areas to prevent ragging from occurring.
