ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Dr. B. R. Ambedkar studies  was established in the year-1988. Earlier it was known  Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Chair which was established by A. M. Rajashekharaiah way back in the year 1976. Later it was elevated to conduct Post Graduate Diploma course. At present 60 students are  pursuing  their P. G. Diploma and 300 students are pursuing OEC (Open Elective Course)  paper. In addition the department is organizing State, National and International Seminars / Conferences / Workshops and Special Lectures by inviting eminent Scholars, Jurists and renowned Experts in the field. The department also organizes functions on the eve of several auspicious occasions like Mahaparinirvan Day, Koregaon Veera smaran Day, Jyothiba and Savitri Bai Phule Jayantis.  The department also organizes and initiates academic progrmmes such as   coaching classes, workshops and remedial courses, training programmes  to train the SC/ST/OBC students/ women and other weaker sections of society. Thus the department provides ample opportunities to all SC/ST, downtrodden and marginalized, students to take up the IAS / KAS / UGC/NET/ SLET, Banking and other competitive examinationsThe Dr. B. R.
