Post graduate center Bijapur
The undivided Bijapur district is known for its temples, structural monuments, art and architectural heritages, archaeological sites and cave temples, but educationally and economically it is a backward area. With the objective to spread education in this area Karnatak University opened, its Post-Graduate Centre in 1993. At present P.G. Centre offers one M.A. Degree Course in History and Archaeology and five P.G. Diploma and Certificate Courses namely i) P.G. Diploma in Tourism, ii) P.G. Diploma in Art-History, iii) P.G.D.C.A. (Computer Application), iv) P.G. Diploma in Food Processing and Quality Control and v) Certificate Course in Arabic. The first one is two year (four semester) M.A. Course with five papers (3 Compulsory + 2 optionals) for each semester. The remaining Diploma Course are one year non-semester courses. From this academic year (2007-08) Centre will going to offer M.A. in Social Work (M.S.W.) of two year course (totally Four Semesters).
